A design bookcase with sleek, simple lines, crafted by Vico Magistretti after lengthy analysis and interpretation of the elements that make up the classic bookcase with sides and shelves. An icon of modern design it is also an authentic structural invention in which the diagonal braces become loadbearing elements that support the shelves, allowing the side pieces to be eliminated entirely.
The folding structure, that can also be used as a room divider, focuses attention on the hinges and on its ability to support six shelves. The elegant, essential aesthetic, iconic and user-friendly, has made it an unmistakable archetype since 1977, imitated by many as an example of simplified functionality through the interplay of shapes.
