Edison Table
DESIGNED BY Vico Magistretti
FOR Cassina
An elegant system of cross-shaped connectors used in gas lamps gave Vico Magistretti the idea for this glass table that grew out of a desire to express the beauty of industrial architecture.
Prized by the renowned architect, he took it home as the dining table for his house in Milan. Designed in 1985, Edison narrates modernity through the ready-made concept. In this case, a technical solution sparked the idea for an original design that puts on display a design found in Milan’s old gas company.
