LC12 Table La Roche
DESIGNED BY Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret
FOR Cassina
Designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret in 1925 for the Maison La Roche in Paris, this design table with a rectangular top in wood or glass is truly outstanding thanks to the bold contrast between its two main components: the support and what is supported.
The plastic and conceptual values of this exemplar derive from an inversion of roles of the parts in which the vibrant lightness of the top is opposed to its actual weight while the comforting stability of the base contrasts with its slender lines.
