Skyscraper Vase
DESIGNED BY Bodil Kjaer
FOR Cassina
Originally in 1963, Bodil Kjaer designed a family of four vases featuring contours and decorations reminiscent of the architectural elements of building facades.
In this re-edition with Cassina, architecture is still the key feature and the sculptural shape of the vase is achieved through a particularly difficult process requiring excellent artisan skills.
Skyscraper is made of transparent glass mechanically pressed into a cast-iron mould to create the shape of a building. Its transparency magnifies the complex shape of the object, reminiscent of a skyscraper.
